Lt. Col. Jess F. Thomas, Division Signal Officer and Capt. George H. "Fuzzy" Fezell. The idea and direction for the Third Division photographers was Fezell's. Jack Cole and Howard Nickerson were drafted from the 10th Engineers on the Anzio beachhead as the first two members of "Fuzzy's Folly" as the crew and it's custom-built photo trailer were known.
