Montelimar 1944   Dogface Soldiers : Montelimar

These German soldiers were lucky enough to escape death at Montelimar. The Seventh Army action there in late August 1944 was horrific but decisive as it dealt a deadly blow to the German 19th Army that it would not recover from. German units operating in the area included the 338th, 198th, 716th and 244th infantry divisions; the 189th and 148th Reserve Divisions; and the 11th Panzer Division.
