By December 13, Task Force McGarr — named for Colonel Lionel C. McGarr — attached to the 36th Infantry Division. The 30th Regiment task force included the 41st Field Artillery and elements of the 10th Engineers, 441st Antiaircraft Battalion, 753rd Tank Battalion, and tank destroyers from 5th French Armor.
